7/20/08 – Northern Oregon Coast Tour: 8:30 – 5:30, $57.50
– Lunch NOT Provided
This tour will take you through the beautiful
coastal range of Oregon to Cannon Beach located at the northern end
of the Oregon Coast. An artist’s community was named for the cannons
that washed ashore from the wreck of the Sloop-of-War Shark in 1846.
Cannon Beach is also the site of Haystack Rock, the third largest
monolith in the world, towering 235 feet above the water. On the
7-mile stretch of beach enjoy beachcombing, explore tide pools, bird
watch, and admire the beauty and strength of the Pacific Ocean. In
town, you’ll be able to visit many unique art galleries, charming
shops and eateries that line the streets.You will be shown a variety of popular
restaurants in the small downtown area and be given time for lunch
on your own.
On our return trip we will visit the Tillamook
Cheese factory to watch the cheese-making process and sample the
finished product, and for you ice cream lovers enjoy a cone topped
with one (or more) of their many flavors of ice cream. Finally we’ll
take the Wilson River route through the coastal range and the
rolling hills of the fertile Willamette Valley Wine Region back to
the Red Lion.
7/20/08 – Portland City Tour:
2:00 – 6:00 pm, $40.00
Known as one of the most “livable” cities in the
USA, Portland is rich in history, parks, bridges, numerous fountains
and intriguing architecture. The downtown life offers off-
the-beaten-path restaurants, coffee shops and nightlife.
Also included in the tour is a visit to Washington
Park, home of the International Rose Test Gardens, recognized as the
oldest public rose test garden in the United States, boasting over
10,000 roses and 550 varieties.
7/24/08 - Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Half Day Tour:
2:00 – 6:00 pm, $45.00
Visit one of Oregon’s most incredible views of
the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, which include
mountainous overlooks of the Columbia River & Washington State, from
Crown Point’s Vista House.
Also we’ll stop at several waterfalls with interesting names like
Latourell, Wahkeena, and Multnomah for short walks, quiet reflection
or photo opportunities (you choose).
Still heading east, we'll discuss the life cycle of Pacific
Northwest Salmon enroute to the Bonneville Dam, where we may see
migrating adult salmon through the fish-viewing windows and in the
fish ladders.
Many visitors are surprised with the natural beauty which is
available within a half hour from downtown Portland.
